Food lovers from around the nation invaded Las Vegas last Thursday through Sunday (May 10-13, 2012) for Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appétit. The tickets sold out fast!

It kicked off at 11:30 a.m. Thursday with a lunch at Spago at the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace celebrating the restaurant’s 20^th anniversary. Wolfgang Puck himself was there, as well as Adam Rapoport. All weekend long, celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay, Guy Savoy, José Andrés and Alain Ducasse hosted brunches, lunches and dinners. I wish I could go to all of them!

If I had to pick one event, I’d say go to the Grand Tasting 7:30-10 p.m. Friday night at the Garden of the Gods pool oasis at Caesar’s Palace was the Grand Tasting at 7:30 p.m. It brought together 50 award-winning chefs serving up samples, along with more than 100 fine wines and spirits from around the world.

The Celebrity Chef Poker Tournament started at 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan. You could pay to watch or play with some your favorites, and it was for a good cause: Proceeds will benefit Communities in Schools and Vegas Roots. Fun, food and charity – all the ingredients for a great event.
